ieri ho postato qui
https://forum.cactofili.org/viewtopic.php?t=47445
Re: Coryphantha elephantidens (ssp. bumamma) versus Coryphantha pycnacantha (= C. andreae)

From the book Reto F. Dicht, Adrian D. Lüthy - Coryphantha, Cacti of Mexico and Southern USA:
( it is free somewhere online, p. 40)
C.1 Majority of radial spines subulate or thin subulate -----> 17.b. C. elephantidens ssp. bumamma
C.2 Majority of radial spines needle-like -----> II.A.b Series Pycnacanthae, 19. C. pycnacantha, 20. C. tripugionacantha
So if you see that spines on that plant are in 2 rows, divided to radial and central ones, this is C. pycnacantha.
But if the spines are radial only, (Radial
spines 3 strong ones to the sides, 16–20 mm
long, brown with dark tips, then greyish-
brown with dark tips, in upper part of areole
2 more and below 1 more 11 mm long, all sub-
ulate, the lower one and the upper ones some-
what thinner than the lateral ones.) that would be C. elephantidens ssp. bumamma.
